Threads, Hope & Love started in a church in 2009 when 4 women and their pastor felt a calling into the mission of giving clothing and other necessities to people in need. We believe in our hearts that a need arises for those in most income levels at one time or another. The need was so much more than we ever expected. In 2010, we became a mission company, governed by many area churches, all with the same focus. We spent that year traveling from church to church, giving clothing to people in need. At the end of 2010, we were offered a 5,000 square foot of space in a warehouse, with offices included. The time came when we had to make a decision whether to buy the space or begin paying pay rent. We simply couldn't afford at that time. Thankfully, S.C.O.R.E. in Peoria, Illinois stepped in to teach us how to create a campaign to raise the funds to purchase our own property. We felt this was God's perfect timing for us to make a major step in our community. After months of searching, we made an offer on an abandoned meat locker. We secured a temporary facility to continue our mission as we renovated our future home. We purchased the current building in March of 2013 and the renovation began immediately. A man that owns his own renovation company, along with various members in the community, donated their time and skills for over 10 months to make the perfect space for Threads, Hope & Love. Various members of the community worked long and hard, 6 days per week in the extreme cold and heat. We moved into our new building at Christmas in 2013.
We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. We strive to provide hope, showing them that things can get better. We will do whatever God wants us to do as we continue to be His hands and feet, and we will always be here for those that rely on us to assist in times of need.
We have no geographical boundaries for those we serve.
